Lasso is an iPhone app that helps Cowboy e-bike owners keep their bike unlocked after a battery drop mid-ride. It is made by Costi Mihai ("we"). Contact: contact@costi.pro.

The short version

Lasso has no account, no analytics and no advertising. Your bike data stays on your iPhone. The only data that leaves your device is what Apple and RevenueCat need to process in-app purchases.

Data that stays on your iPhone

Lasso talks to your bike over Bluetooth. It reads lock state, battery level and voltage, speed, distance and similar ride values, and keeps a log of connections, disconnections and lock changes, including signal strength. All of this is stored only on your iPhone. We do not receive it. You can delete it at any time by clearing the log in the app or deleting the app.

When you share the log

The log only leaves your iPhone if you export it yourself through the iOS share sheet, for example to email it to us for support. In that case we use it only to answer your request and delete it when we no longer need it.

In-app purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to check whether you have started the trial or bought Lifetime. For this, RevenueCat receives a random anonymous user ID created by the app, your purchase history in Lasso and basic technical data about the device and app version. This data is not linked to your name or Apple ID by us and is not used for tracking or advertising. See RevenueCat's privacy policy. Apple's handling of payments is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Notifications and Live Activities

Notifications and the Live Activity are created on your iPhone. No push server is involved.

Tracking

Lasso does not track you across apps or websites and does not show ads.

This website

lasso-bike.vercel.app uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and page views. It sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses or personal identifiers; Vercel derives an anonymous, daily-rotating hash and discards it. See Vercel's analytics privacy notes.

Children

Lasso is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct and delete personal data about you, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we hold no personal data about you except a support email you send us, the easiest way to exercise these rights is to write to us. For purchase data held by RevenueCat, contact us and we will ask RevenueCat to delete it.

Legal basis

Processing purchase data is necessary to provide what you bought (contract). Handling a support request is based on your request.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
